Achievements

1. Indian Institute of Materials Management has awarded BWSSB with Best Supply Chain Practices in Water Management and Administration This award is conferred in recognition of the efforts of the Board in water purification, distribution and waste water management

 

2. National Urban Water Award 2011-12 to Vishveshwaraiah Rain Water Harvesting Theme Park:-Union Urban Development Ministry awarded National Urban Water Award 2011-12 under citizen service Governance Category to BWSSB Theme Park.

 

3. PRCI Award for Wall Calendar 2015:-Public Relation Council of India awarded Silver Medal to Wall Calendar 2015 of BWSSB for using it as effective Communication Media.

 

 
  1. Cauvery Water Supply Scheme Stage IV Phase II for additional 500 MLD water at a cost of Rs. About 2800 crores       (water component).
  2. Providing UGD facilities to erstwhile 7CMC & 1 TMC at a cost of Rs. 1200.00 Cr. works are under progress and 99% works are completed.Water supply infrastructure has been provided to the area under erstwhile 7CMCs & 1 TMC at a cost of 537 crores
  3. Total No of bore wells (3839 Hard Pump and 9070 submersible purpose) are functional.
  4. Restoration of 280 kms of leaky and encrusted water supply pipeline at a cost of Rs.77 crores.
  5. Restoration of 301 kms of dilapidated waste water pipeline at a cost of Rs.48 crores.
  6. Renovation of 70 kms of waste water sub-mains at a cost of Rs.370 crores.
  7. Scheme for zero discharge of wastewater into the Hebbal valley storm water drains at a cost of Rs.45 crores.
  8. Waste water source line of 1200mm dia from Krishnappa Garden, Madiwala to Central Silk Board at a cost of Rs. 18.00 Crores.
  9. Free installation of water meters to 22,000 households in 350 slums at a cost of Rs.2.20 crore.
  10. Waiver of interest on overdue water bills of 12,000 households in slums at a cost of Rs.5.50 crore.
  11. Procuring 35 jetting machines for cleaning UGD.
  12. Installation of 218 electronic bulk flow water meters at a cost of Rs.14 crore for plugging water leakage.
  13. Construction of 10 water reservoirs at various places at a cost of Rs.46 crore.
  14. Construction of 6 reservoirs at a cost of Rs.140 crore under Cauvery 4th stage 2nd phase scheme.
  15. Amendments to the rules to make rainwater harvesting mandatory.
  16. Setting up of a rainwater harvesting Vishveshwaraiah theme park in Jayanagar at a cost of Rs.2 crore.
  17. Free rain water harvesting training to 1200 plumbers and others. Setting up of a Help Desk for providing information to public (23348848-49) regarding rain water harvesting.
  18. The rainwater harvesting system has been installed in 23,000 buildings in Bangalore city.
